Remembrance Day at West Wiltshire Crematorium

West Wiltshire Crematorium is holding a special Open Chapel event on Saturday 9 November to mark Remembrance Day.

 

The event will take place between 11am and 12noon and offers an opportunity for visitors spend time in the chapel for a quiet moment of reflection.

 

They will be able to light a candle in hour of a loved one, and also collect some flower seeds which they can either place on a memorial within the crematorium’s grounds or take home with them.

 

Flowers will be available which people will be able to place on the memorial of a loved one within the crematorium’s grounds or take home with them.

 

Visitors will also be able to write a letter or card which can be placed into the crematorium’s Letters to Heaven memorial post box.

 

No booking is required for anyone to attend the Open Chapel event.

Crematorium Manager Louise Belsey said: “Honouring lives of people who have passed on is a big part of what we do here and it feels fitting that we should commemorate Remembrance Day.
