West Wiltshire Crematorium’s 12 Days of Christmas

A ’12 Days of Christmas’ giveaway resulted in a dozen charities and other organisations being gifted with a donation from West Wiltshire Crematorium.

 

Each day between December 1 and 12, the crematorium highlighted a different recipient to receive a share of a £10,000 fund raised through its metal recycling scheme.

 

With the consent of families, metals recovered during cremation are recycled and any proceeds are donated to charities and other organisations which benefit the local community.

 

West Wiltshire Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites in England, Scotland and Wales, all set within beautifully-landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.

 

The Wallace and Gromit Children’s Foundation, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Young Lives Vs Cancer, Julia’s House Hospice, Ruksak, Cruse South West, Mind Wiltshire and Wiltshire Treehouse each received a £1,000 donation.

 

Carer Support Wiltshire, Larkrise Community Farm, Trowbridge Salvation Army and 4Youth each received £500.

 

Louise Belsey, Wiltshire Crematorium Manager, said: “It was a pleasure to be able to run our 12 Days of Christmas giveaway once again.

 

“Every day, for 12 days, we featured one of the organisations we are donating to on our Facebook page, with some information about what they do and why we chose them to receive some money from us.

 

“The donations are our way of saying thank you to the recipients for the work they do to support, look after, and enrich the lives of those who live in our local communities.

 

“In recognition of the positive contribution the organisations make, we’re proud to be able to make a contribution to them, to support their valuable work.”
